This Book Lovers Day, we're inviting readers of every age to experience the joy of discovering a book purely through curiosity.

From 3rd to 8th August, Makurday Bookstore is hosting Blind Date with a Book—a week-long celebration where every wrapped book hides its cover, title and author. Instead, each book comes with just a few clues to guide your choice.

Will it be an unforgettable adventure? A heartwarming story? A gripping mystery? A timeless classic? Or perhaps the book that becomes your next favourite?

1. Walk into Makurday Bookstore

Visit us anytime between 3rd and 8th August, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

2. Browse the Wrapped Books

Every book is beautifully wrapped. No peeking!

3. Read the Clues

Each book comes with a tag that tells you just enough to spark your curiosity.

You'll find details like:

• Fiction      or Non-fiction
• Genre
• Whether      it's a New York Times Bestseller
• Original      MRP

No title.

No author.

No cover.

Just enough mystery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I've already read the book I pick?

We've got you covered.

If you decide to unwrap your book in the store and discover you've already read it, simply let us know before leaving the store. We'll happily exchange it for another Blind Date with a Book of the same value, subject to availability.

What if I'm buying it as a gift and the recipient already owns the book?

No problem!

If the wrapped book is gifted and the recipient already has or has already read the book, you may bring it back on the same day, along with the original bill and the book in good condition, and we'll exchange it for another Blind Date with a Book of the same value, subject to availability.

We want every Blind Date to be a happy surprise.

Can I see the book before buying it?

No!

That's the whole idea.

The title, author and cover stay hidden until it's time for your Blind Date.

How do I choose?

Each wrapped book includes a clue tag with information such as:

• Fiction      or Non-fiction
• Genre
• Whether      it's a New York Times Bestseller
• Original      MRP

That's all you get.

The rest is a surprise.

Can I buy more than one?

Absolutely!

We are happy to see visitors pick one for themselves and another for a family member or friend!

Can I buy one for my child?

Yes!

We have separate collections for:

So everyone in the family can enjoy their own mystery read.

Can I gift a Blind Date with a Book?

Definitely.

How long is the event?

The Blind Date with a Book experience runs from 3rd August to 8th August, between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM, or until all the wrapped books have found their readers.
